Cristo Cook-Out

I wish we got to see my dad's side of the family more than we do, but it's just hard to get everybody together! Last Saturday, my sweet 1st cousin, Audrey, her husband, Zay (whom we have never met!), and precious new addition to the family, baby Kade, were in town from Hawaii. Audrey is in the Marines and Zay was enlisted in the Air Force up until this past year. After months of saved vacation time, they decided to take 3 weeks and come home so that everybody could see the baby! They would probably be able to come home more if it weren't for the cost of plane tickets! They bid on the tickets that they got and still paid over $500 per person! Rediculous!

Anyways, we were extremely excited to have them home, and my mother decided it would be a good idea to have a cookout for them at our house. Indeed it was a great idea. We swam for a while and enjoyed the fellowship of having family together. We couldn't have picked a sweeter guy for Audrey, and the baby is absolutely adorable!! They had a chance to spend a week and a half in Baldwyn and a week and a half with his family in Memphis. Can you believe she went all the way to Hawaii and met a guy from Memphis? It's such a small world. Phillip didn't arrive in Booneville until Sunday evening so he didn't have the privilege of meeting them. So on Tuesday, we made a special trip to Baldwyn. He loved Zay!!

I wish we got to see them more, but we're extremely proud of the life she has chosen. They're both getting school paid for, and Audrey is making a career out of the Marines. In two years, she will either be relocated or they will remain in Hawaii. I kind of hope they get to move closer to us, but if not, we will have to deal with seeing them every 2 years. I love them dearly!
